○＜ご案内＞2024年台湾花蓮地震の被害調査速報会を開催します（4月23日（火））

　2024年4月3日、台湾東部花蓮県沖で気象庁マグニチュードMjma7.7（台湾ではML7.2）の地震が発生し、広い
範囲で震度5強、震源に近い花蓮県では震度6強を記録していくつかのビルの傾斜被害や広範囲での落石被害が
報じられ、4月10日時点で死者16名、負傷者1155名、行方不明者が3名という甚大な被害が生じました。
　花蓮県周辺の台湾島東部沿岸は地震が多発するところであり、これまでの被害地震はたびたび起きています。
最近では2018年花蓮地震の際、花蓮市では今回と同様な建物の傾斜被害や橋の損傷が起きました。旧い設計基
準で建造された中でも耐震性の低いものに集中した被害と考えられます。今回の地震は2018年の地震と同程度
の揺れが観測されており、その地震被害との比較はインフラメンテナンスのあり方を考える上で大変重要です。
　そのような観点から4月11日から14日まで、国立台湾科技大学の盧之偉教授のグループと共同で現地被害調査
を実施致しました。その結果を広く皆様と共有するため、下記のように速報会を対面とオンラインで開催します。

Preliminary Reporting Seminar on
the Damage Survey for the 2024 Hualien, Taiwan, Earthquake

　On April 3, 2024, an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 on the JMA scale (ML 7.2 in Taiwan)
occurred off the coast of Hualien County in eastern Taiwan, registering 5 stronger on the
Japanese Meteorological Agency (JMA) seismic scale over a wide area and 6 stronger on the
JMA intensity scale in Hualien County near the epicenter. As of April 10, 16 people were dead,
1155 people injured and 3 people were missing.
　We conducted a reconnaissance from April 11 to 14 in collaboration with Professor Chih-Wei Lu,
the National Taiwan University of Science and Technology. In order to share the results of the
survey with you, we will hold a preliminary reporting seminar both in-person and online as follows.
We hope that you will listen to our presentation.
